Trust the Logic of Your Intuition

“In order to begin the journey, whether that’s to a real place or to the space within yourself, you need to find that center.
If you’re centered, you can do anything.”

At 25, I left the competitive circuit to follow my dream of Surfing the coastline of Sweden. This involved boating, hiking, or even skiing into very wild places. There are two ways of finding these locations. One is by methodically taking the knowledge built up from surfing and applying it to a map. The other is going by gut and allowing things to happen. I found the best spots when I’ve combined both.

In the same way that I’ve used my intuition to discover these special places, I’ve used it to understand myself. When I was 19, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that took me out of Surfing for a year. I needed to heal, and medicine was only getting me so far. As part of my recovery, I started meditating. Everytime I closed my eyes, I would get about where I needed to focus my energy. Instead of feeling fear or sadness about my illness, I would send love to the area that needed it. I connected with my body instead of trying to conquer it. And the results started to come.

Do not under play the role of your inner voice. It is still based on common sense and rational decision-making, but it’s there to guide you towards your center. In order to begin the journey, whether that’s too a real place or to the space within yourself, you need to find that center. If you’re centered, you can do anything.
